On Thursday, 25th March 2010, 8pm, Professor David Paton will deliver a talk called ‘Reducing teenage pregnancy and sexual activity: What works and what doesn’t’.
Professor David Paton holds the Chair of Industrial Economics at the Nottingham University Business School. His research interests include teenage pregnancy. He is a critic of New Labour's policy of promoting contraception among teenagers. His research on the determinants of teenage pregnancy has been discussed in the House of Commons and House of Lords and has been the subject of considerable press, radio and TV coverage.
His talk will be particularly relevant in view of the recommendation of the Law Reform Commission to make contraception available to minors without the permission of their parents.
It will be held in the Davenport hotel, Dublin 2. If you are interested in coming please email info@ionainstitute.ie. Admission is free.
